You are going to see people say that homer will come out strong because they play hard against Haynesville but i don't want to hear it at all not this year the Tors will roll over them quick fast and a hurry! Coach Franklin is not going to let the score get pass 50 he's to respectful he will put 3rd team in before he beats somebody's brains out! 46- 6

I agree with this. Coach Franklin will pull the starters before the 4th quarter maybe sooner, but the score will still look lopsided. Homer will come out fired up, but it won't last. Past 2 years they've scored on us the 1st play of the game.

The is the oldest rivalry in terms of existence between the two schools? I thought Neville and Ruston had played each other more times than any other two schools. I could have it backwards or mis-interpreted.

I just did a little research... Neville vs. Ruston, despite the erroneous article in the news star, is the SECOND longest rivalry in La. Haynesville and Homer are NUMBER 1.

Before 1921 Ruston only went to 9th grade.

No sir, I did all caps on purpose. Too many people been mistaken by this every year we say Haynesville and Homer is the oldest rivalry in Louisiana so I wanted to make my self All caps and clear. No disrespect though Ray.

I have to beg the differ. I really like the Haynesville/Homer rivalry because Homer sometimes starts out 0-2 into the series and find a way to stay in the game against Haynesville. I am going to say that Haynesville will win the game but I don't see the Pels get blowed out in this one. Haynesville 41 Homer 30

Man I have to disagree with you HH. Any other year I would agree with you, but Haynesville is really good this year and Homer is having a rebuilding year. They will come out fired up but it won't last. I don't see them putting up more than 14 against the Haynesville defense.

Hvillefan I really think that Homer can put more than 14 on Haynesville but I don't think that they can win the game. I do think that the Pels will make it past the first half to hang in there with the Golden Tors but Haynesville will close it out by the end of the 3rd quarter.

I sure hope Homer can make a game of it. With Haynesville winning of course. I'm a Haynesville grad my wife is a Homer grad so you can imagine what it's like in my house when Hville/Homer week comes around. She usually knows who's gonna win, but makes it a little easier on her and me when it's a close game.

No doubt, Homer is outmatched this year. But, stranger things have happened. Homer would have to play a near perfect game to pull off the upset. I think our guys have seen enough of these games in their lifetime to know better than to take it lightly. I hope we put them away early and build on our chemistry. We'll need it Oct. 4th.

Homer's offensive line will not stand up to the pressure haynesville will put on them. the only thing homer has going for them is that their qb can throw on the run pretty good no matter which side he is rolling out from. i suspect the tors will be up by at least 6 td's by halftime. somewhere around 56-6 as a final.

btw, someone please buy homer a new flag. two ladies held and stretched out the most faded and old looking flag i have ever seen at the game this past friday night. they didn't even run it up the flag pole, they just had the two ladies stand there and hold it while they played the anthem. bring your own drinks also, the ones they had at the concession stand were flat like they were left over from last football season.

If you're looking for a game to watch, there is none better than this this Friday night! Regardless of how the two teams match up, the game will have the atmosphere of a championship match. Both stands will be full and each crowd will be pumped up and making noise! I encourage anyone to come out and watch a true rivalry between two towns get settled on the football field!

Neville at Ouachita will be way better. Homer is getting blowout.

Homer knows a Tornado is going to hit them, they just don't know how hard it is going to hit!!!! David will take it easy on them!!! 44- 14 is more like it!!!!!

I have to say that the Tors are loaded.
This was will not be close.
I pick the Tors in a blow out! I would imagine they would love to play OCS this year.
OCS is good but the Tors are very good. Much respect to the Haynesville program.
Good luck this year
