"Mangham Dragon schedule"
May-16-11, 06:52 PM (CST)
Jamboree Franklin Parish away

Week 1 Madison away

week 2 Buckeye away

week 3 Caldwell away

week 4 Sterlington home

week 5 Grambling home

Week 6 Tensas away

week 7 Delhi Charter home

week 8 Oak Grove home

week 9 Delhi away

week 10 Menard away

A good schedule for the Dragon's. I look for a 7-3 or 8-2 record and a good seed in the playoffs.

well, you know they got 1 win for sure (Tensas).

The game vs Oak Grove should be a good one.

Although Tensas has been awful of late.......I STILL hear the rumors that Brad Bradshaw will be there coach next year. I do know the current coach has been relieved of his duties......and told as much.

Madison and Grambling are pretty much gimme wins as well, unless whoever takes over at Madison works a miracle in a short amount of time. Any word yet on that situation? I would think the Madison situation would be more appealing than Tensas due to the size and therefore having more athletes to pull from.

I agree, but never count out any school with athletes. Wasnt but a few years ago that Grambling went for terrible to really good in one season......then back to terrible the next year.

I do however think the Mangham program is on the upswing again and it would be nice to see them return to the days of glory I know that they had some years back.

Problem is, word around Rayville is that politics are now getting back involved in the School Board and a certain board member........last name Barton.......is attempting to create a Coup of sorts so that he can once again ruin the Mangham program like he did previously with the hiring of "kin"

Wait, so there's someone on the Richland Parish School Board related to Bo Barton, and who therefore makes decisions on matters related to his kin while he was employed there? To me, that is unethical. If that's the situation I would think the ethical thing to do would to have to make that board member abstain from voting on any matters related to kinfolk and thereby removing the potential for favoritism towards relatives. I hate stuff that gets treated crookedly.

Close.......He WISHES to make decisions related to Coach Barton in the future. He was not on the board when Coach Barton was relieved of his duties.

However, in the past this board member ramrodded the gentleman married to his Niece into the head slot at Mangham.........and he was a dismal failure........later ran out of town on a rail.

Thank goodness he does not represent the Rayville district!!!.....lol

No one man can "ramrod" a coach in without having the votes and the superintendent's recommendation.

Sorry. Try Again.

Yes......political deals can be made......and were to make this happen.

Evenflo.........may I ask your "relativity" to the board member in question?

Still doesn't explain why he was the principal's and superintendent's first choice.

And my relativity is irrelevant. It doesn't affect my ability to spot a lie when it's written in black and white.

Don't believe me? Call the man yourself and ask him how it went down, instead of repeating the story somebody told you.

O wait, that would jeopardize your ability to sit there and throw bombs while cowardly hiding behind a screen name like millions of other losers on the internet.

Oh......I think "relativity" has a LITTLE something to do with it.

Never the less, I am tickled the "gentleman" does not represent the Rayville area.

AND........when the principals brother gets an administrative job as trade off for his recommendation of said coach..........that would be just one of the political deals mentioned.

I think you overestimate the power of a single board member, especially one that represents one of TWO Mangham votes when Rayville has 5 voting members. He got the job because he was the principal's choice, the superintendent's choice, and the board's choice. There are several stop-gaps in the process to prevent one man from "ram-rodding" the board into anything.

You know, judging by your comments that are strictly football related, I think we could have some really good dialog about the game, the teams, the coaches, etc., but for some reason, you have an axe to grind against people I care about. I don't know what they did to you, I don't know if they were in the right or the wrong, but whatever it is, get over it and move on. This is a board for "sports talk" not "agenda driven rumor mill gossip and henhouse talk.

I can tell you that Coach 1 isn't at Rayville anymore and Coach 2 isn't at Mangham anymore. Both are perfectly happy in their new roles, and to hear you tell it, you are happy they aren't in their old ones. Let's just grow up, move on, and talk some football.

I'll put it this way. Due to my "relativity" I get FIRST-hand information, not whatever trickles out of the central office after it makes its rounds.

I see Buckeye, Sterlington, DC, Oak Grove and Menard all being big question marks on the schedule.

Menard maybe. They held up well vs. Homer last year.

Buckeye won't slow them down...Marksville put 70 on them last year with a similar scheme and lesser athletes.

Tharp is 2-0 vs. DC and DC won't have Gray this year.

Sterlington got them last year, but it will be tough to beat them again.

Who knows how Oak Grove will match up. They play late in the season so that gives Coach Dalrymple a while to find a QB. If they played today, Mangham would be a solid favorite.

I know a lot of people think I may be crazy, but I could see Mangham being the White Castle of 2011. Barring injury or other problems, they will have a very talented team with a lot of experience.
